Step inside the pitch meeting that led to Sony taking Spider-Man from the MCU!

Marvel fans were pumped when it was announced back in 2016 that Disney and Sony had struck a deal allowing Spider-Man to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Tom Holland brought the web slinger to life in the MCU in Captain America Civil War, Spider-Man: Homecoming and Far From Home, Avengers Infinity War and Avengers Endgame.

But now it seems like some negotiations between Disney and Sony have gone south, because it was reported that Spider-Man will no longer be a part of the MCU moving forward, instead heading back over to being a fully Sony production. Although this could potentially lead to a team-up with Tom Hardy’s Venom, it also means that this incarnation of Spider-Man could step away from all his Marvel connections, and maybe even be rebooted in just a few years.

To see how this whole thing went down, step inside the pitch meeting that led to Spider-Man leaving the MCU! It’s super easy, barely an inconvenience!
