That was a nice tribute to our state, Senator Lankford. Reminded my wife and me of places we haven’t yet visited and encourages us to do so. That said, I didn’t hear much about us up here between Miami and Pawhuska. Bartlesville, Dewey, Nowata, and all the great towns around. So I thought I’d mention them for you. 🙂
As America is the world’s melting pot, Oklahoma is America’s melting pot. Segregated populations did not always mean folks were poor and oppressed. From North Tulsa’s “Little Wall Street” community, tragically destroyed in the 1929 riots, to great schools and colleges like Langston U., Americans of African ancestry have found good homes and good lives.
